From Sydney to the Great Outdoors: How to Choose a Camping Trailer

Sydney has a lot to offer when it comes to the great outdoors, not just in the city with stunning views of the harbour, but also on the outskirts with some beautiful countryside. One of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors is to go camping or caravanning and if you want to make things easy on yourself, you’ll want to get the right camping trailer for the job hitched up to your towbar.

Getting the right camping trailer shouldn’t be a chore as long as you follow these five simple steps

1. Know What You Want to Do
You might only want to camp once or twice a year in fairly tame places or you might want to camp every weekend right in the heart of the bush. Knowing how often you plan to use your trailer as well as what conditions it’ll face will help you narrow down your options.

2. Make a Checklist
What’s the thing that you want most in your camping trailer? Bathroom? Kitchen? If you decide what you want in your trailer, as well as how much you want it, you can then narrow that list of options down further.

3. Know Your Vehicle
Depending on your car and towbar some camping trailers will be too heavy and therefore not viable options. Learn about what your car can handle so you don’t end up making a very expensive mistake.

4. Talk to Experts
Get online or visit caravanning groups to find out more about the models of camping trailers you’re interested in, as well as get some honest opinions.

5. Go to a Show
Keep an eye out for camping trailer and caravan shows and exhibitions in your area so you can speak to the manufacturers of the trailers that you’re interested in, as well as to get a better idea of what’s available.
