What it means Beyond the Badge

Most of the products you buy and use daily have been halfway around the world before they reach your doorstep. So, supporting local businesses that make or manufacture their products here on home soil is especially important. Australian-made brands are committed to creating Aussie jobs, supporting local suppliers and crafting top-quality products that stand the test of time, and must satisfy certain criteria in order to be able to use the coveted ‘Australian made’ badge.

Investing in our country

When you purchase from an Australian-made business, you’re not just buying a product; you’re investing in your country. The ‘Australian made’ badge recognises the effort and resources invested at home to bring a product to life. But what exactly constitutes ‘Australian-made’?

Locally sourced materials

Australian-made brands like us source materials from local suppliers. This helps our domestic industry and ensures that these components align with the brand’s commitment to quality and durability.

Local manufacturing

‘Australian-made’ products can use components not necessarily made here as long as the finished product is manufactured or produced within Australia. A product must be substantially transformed on Australian soil to earn the Australian-made label.

Craftsmanship

Being Australian-made means that a high level of attention to detail, precision and skill goes into each and every product. Our team of experts pour their heart and soul into manufacturing towbars and trailers built to withstand the rigours of our Aussie terrain and keep you safe on the roads.

Sustainable practices

It’s not just about production – it’s also about sustainability. By manufacturing our products locally, we’re reducing our carbon footprint, meaning that our approach is more sustainable in the long term and has less of an impact on the planet.

Strengthening the local economy

Choosing an Australian-made brand also means contributing to the growth of the Australian economy. Supporting local businesses resonates through job creation, community development and increased investment in innovation.

What it means to be Australian-owned

A business can have Australian-made products but not be Australian-owned, and vice versa. When a business is Australian-owned, it means the majority of its ownership and control is in the hands of Aussies. This means the business’ profits remain within Australia and contribute to the local economy.

Why choose Carasel?

As a family business that has always created our products right here in New South Wales, Carasel qualifies as both Australian-made and Australian-owned and is committed to everything that the Australian-made philosophy entails.

Even though our towbars are 100% Aussie made, some of our trailer and accessories components need to be sourced from overseas – given the limitations on Australia’s domestic production of electronics – we always ensure that every stage of the process has an Aussie’s eye over it. We believe in keeping as much of the process as possible here in Australia while sourcing top-notch components to ensure your trailer is safe, reliable and durable.
