This ARK AH17 wiring harness is a universal type and comes with a 7-pin flat trailer plug . The control box provides a separate switched power source so as to reduce the load on existing circuits in the vehicle. This arrangement taps into the control wires going to: STOP, TAIL, REVERSE, LEFT and RIGHT TURN in the vehicle and feeds them into the control box. The output of the control box goes to the trailer or bike rack. The control box requires a separate power and ground connection, usually linked to the 12V battery of the Tesla vehicles
